Our Routine Song
Tune: Mulberry Bush
written by Mrs. Jones

These are some of the procedures we follow in our classroom.

This is the way we greet our friends,
Greet our friends, greet our friends.
This is the way we greet our friends,
In our Kindergarten.

This is the way we raise our hand,
raise our hand, raise our hand.
This is the way we raise our hand,
In our Kindergarten.

This is the way we wash our hands,
Wash our hands, wash our hands.
This is the way we wash our hands,
In our Kindergarten.

This is the way we get a drink,
Get a drink, get a drink.
This is the way we get a drink,
In our Kindergarten.

This is the way we sing a song,
Sing a song, sing a song.
This is the way we sing a song,
In our Kindergarten.

This is the way we read a book,
Read a book, read a book.
This is the way we read a book,
In our Kindergarten.

This is the way we write in our journal,
Write in our journal, write in our journal.
This is the way we write in our journal,
In our Kindergarten.

This is the way we get in a line,
get in a line, get in a line.
This is the way we get in a line,
In our Kindergarten.

This is the way we walk in the hall,
Walk in the hall, walk in the hall.
This is the way we walk in the hall,
In our Kindergarten.

A well-managed classroom has a set of procedures and routines
that structure the classroom for learning.

We sing our routine song many times as we are entering our classroom at the
beginning of the year. Later in the year sometimes we'll hear a random voice
singing a verse or two as we are getting ready to start our day.
We also review our routines and procedures when we return from
a long vacation such as Winter Break or Spring break.
