Songs About the Continents

Tune: The Farmer in the Dell

Continents of the World
Continents of the World
There are 7 continents.
The continents of the world.

Asia, Africa, Europe
Antarctica it's true
North America, South America
And Australia too.

Continents of the World
Continents of the World
There are 7 continents.
The continents of the world.

Tune - Row, Row, Row Your Boat

North, North, North America,
South America,
Europe, Asia, Africa,
Australia and Antarctica.

Tune - Row, Row, Row Your Boat

Seven continents on the globe,
Count them all with me.
North America, South America,
Africa makes three.
Europe, Asia, Australia,
Are three more that I know.
Don’t forget Antarctica,
That’s seven --- way to go !

Tune - Frere Jacques

There are seven,
There are seven,
Continents,
Continents,
Europe, Africa, Asia,
North and South America,
Australia and Antarctica,
Australia and Antarctica.

Tune - Jingle Bells

North America, South America, Europe and Asia
Africa, Australia and Antartica Hey!

North America, South America, Europe and Asia
Africa, Australia and Antartica Hey!

Tune - Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

North America, South America, Europe, Asia
Africa, Antartica, and Australia
These are the continents of the world.
We can name them one by one:
North America, South America, Europe, Asia
Africa, Antartica, and Australia.

To learn the seven continents
Think of the letter A.
And when you're down to only one
An E will save the day.

There's Africa, Antarctica, Australia, Asia, too.
The oceans run between them with their waters deep and blue.
There's also two Americas, North and South, you see.
Now, we're coming to the end.
Europe starts with E!

I have my students learn the poem and then say it
while they are pointing to the continents on the world map.

Asia, North and South America, Africa, Antarctica and Australia,
Europe is the only continent that doesn't start with "A"

Indian, Atlantic, Arctic, Pacific, isn't it so very terrific
that I know all 7 continents and all 4 oceans.

Although not a song, here's a fun story the children enjoy:
Once upon a time, North America and South America got married.
They went on their honeymoon to Europe.
They had 4 daughters whose names all begin with the letter "A."
The oldest/biggest daughter is Asia. Next is Africa.
Then, there's Antarctica. Last, is the little baby Australia,
and that is the story of the 7 Continents of the World.
